Omar Montgomery was raised in Aurora by a family that believed in hard work, community, and the promise of this city. Now he's running to make sure every Aurora family has the same opportunities he was given.
His Story
Rooted in Aurora
Omar Montgomery has called Aurora his home for over 20 years. He was raised by a family that believes in hard work, community, and the promise of opportunity.
As Director of Community Engagement for Cherry Creek School District, Omar connects schools, families, businesses, and community groups. His career in K–12 and higher education has taken him from California to Colorado.
Omar brings firsthand knowledge of how Aurora works as a member of the city's Citizens Advisory Budget Commission, where he has reviewed the city budget and how taxpayer dollars are spent.
As Board Chair of the Village Exchange Center, Omar serves families, immigrants, refugees, and entrepreneurs in one of Aurora's most diverse communities. He is also President of the NAACP Rocky Mountain State Conference and Region IV representative on the NAACP National Board of Directors.
Omar is the founder of Leadervate LLC. He holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice and dual master's degrees in Public Administration and Education Administration, and is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
